3/4 cup softened butter

1 cup sugar

1 egg

1/4 cup molasses

1 tsp ground ginger

1/4 tsp ground cloves

1 tsp cinnamon

2 tsp baking soda

1/2 tsp salt

2 cups flour

Blend all ingredients. Form dough into small balls and roll them in a little white sugar. Place on cookie sheets and bake at 350 F for 12 to 15 minutes depending on if you like them soft and chewy or hard. The recipe says they are supposed to make 4 dozen…when I made them today I ended up with 3 dozen.
